Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a kind and loving father and his two sons. The younger son was full of curiosity and adventure, but he didn't always make the best decisions. On the other hand, the older son was obedient and logical. He didn't take many risks. Our story begins in a village. The younger son came to talk with his father.

Younger Son

Father.

Father

3

Yes, my son.

Younger Son

4

I was wondering if I could get money that you are saving for us in advance.

Narrator

5

Father was very diligent and he was saving money for his two sons.

Father

6

Why?

Younger Son

7

I want to go out into the world and have my own adventures.

Father

8

Son, I really want you to do whatever you want to, but I know you always waste money on worthless things. I am worried about your future.

Younger Son

9

Not to worry, father. I won't waste money! I will spend it on my future!

Father

10

All right, then I will trust you. I hope you will make good use of it. Be careful.

Narrator

11

The father handed over a bag of coins to the younger son.

Younger Son

12

Thank you very much, father. I will do my best to make lots of money!

Narrator

13

With his bag of coins, the younger son set off on a journey to a faraway city.

Narrator

14

In the city, the younger son spent his money on fancy clothes, delicious food, and exciting parties.

Younger Son

15

This is amazing! I'm having so much fun!

Friend 1

16

You should be careful with your money. It might run out soon!

Younger Son

17

Don't worry, I have plenty! I want to enjoy my life here in the city! Life in the city is so different from living in the boring countryside! It's so fun!

Narrator

18

Time went by and the younger son's money began to run out. The younger son realized he had spent all his money and had nothing left.

Younger Son

19

Oh no! I have no money left. I am hungry and all alone.

Narrator

20

The younger son thought about his father's house. He remembered how kind and loving his father was.

Younger Son

21

Can you buy me some food?

Friend 2

22

Who are you? You are a stranger.

Younger Son

23

Don't you remember? We had parties together!

Younger Son

24

I will go back to my father and apologize to him. Even if he doesn't accept me as a son anymore, maybe he will at least let me be a servant.

Narrator

25

The younger son decided to return to his father's house. The father didn't expect his younger son would come back, but one day...

Older Son

26

Look! A man is coming to our house!

Father

27

Who is that? He's so thin, his hair is a mess, and his clothes are torn.

Older Son

28

He is waving his hand! Isn't that my younger brother?

Father

29

Is that my son coming back?! Oh, my!

Narrator

30

The father ran to his younger son and embraced him tightly.

Younger Son

31

Father, I have made many mistakes. I am sorry for leaving and wasting my money. I don't deserve to be called your son.

Father

32

My son, I am so happy to see you! You are my beloved child. I forgive you, and I love you just as much as before.

Narrator

33

The father told his servants.

Father

34

Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and shoes on his feet. Let's celebrate his return!

Narrator

35

The father was happy, but his older son was so upset. He said angrily.

Older Son

36

Father, how can you welcome him back so easily? I was always with you and worked hard, but he left us and wasted everything!

Father

37

My son, we should celebrate his return. You and your brother are both my sons. I love you two the same. It was like your brother died, but now he's alive and came back! Don't let this jealousy in your heart destroy you. My son, everything that I have is all yours. Please come and celebrate with us. Your brother was lost and now is found.

Narrator

38

And so, the older son joined in a big celebration to welcome back his brother. The family danced, laughed, and ate together.

Narrator
