3. God's Promise, Noah's Ark
Genesis 6:1-9:17
Characters:

Narrator
1
A long time had passed since God created Earth. Earth was full of bad and wicked people who made God very unhappy. There was one good man named Noah. He was the only person that remembered God's words and always prayed to God.
God
2
Noah, I will destroy all the people on Earth. Not just the people, but also the animals, creeping things, and birds of the heavens. I feel sorry that I have made them, but I will save you and your family.
Noah
3
I understand. What should I do?
God
4
You must build an ark, a big ship. Then, bring your family and two of every kind of animal to the ark.
Noah
5
Every kind of animal?
God
6
Yes. Two of every kind of animal such as cows, pigs, chickens, sheep, goats, and so on. Gather enough food to last a long time.
God
7
In seven days, I will send rain which will last forty days and forty nights. There will be a big flood. Every living thing will drown except for those on your ark.
Noah
8
I see. I will start building the ark right away.
Noah
9
In seven days, in seven days...
Narrator
10
Noah went back home quickly so that he could tell his family what he had heard from God.
Noah
11
Everyone, come together.
Noah's Son 1

Yes, Father. What's the matter?
Noah
13
God called me.
Noah's Son 2
14
Did God call you, Father?
Noah
15
Yes, He did.
Noah's Son 3
16
What did He tell you?
Noah
17
God told me to build an ark and gather two of every animal.
Noah's Son 1
18
Why did God tell you to do so?
Noah
19
God said Earth is full of bad and wicked people... He is planning to make them drown with lasting rain, except for those on the ark we are going to build.
Noah's Wife
20
Are you sure you heard God say that?
Noah
21
Yes. Please help me build the ark and gather two of every kind of animal.
Noah's Son 1 2 3
22
Yes, Father!
Narrator
23
While Noah and his family were working on building the ark, his neighbors talked to them.
Neighbor 1
24
Hey, Noah, what are you doing?
Noah
25
We are building an ark because we are going to have heavy rain.
Neighbor 2
26
Are we going to have heavy rain? Look at the sky. There are no clouds. We are not going to have rain any time soon. You and your family are crazy! Hahaha!
Neighbor 1
27
Hahaha! Crazy Noah!
Narrator
28
The neighbors thought Noah had gone crazy and laughed at him. But Noah never gave up on building the ark. Finally, Noah finished building the ark.
Noah
29
We have finished building the ark. We have finished collecting food and two of every kind of animal.
Narrator
30
Noah, his family, and the animals went onto the ark. Once they closed the door, it started to rain and began to flood quickly.
Noah's Wife
31
The rain isn't stopping! All the land has flooded!
Noah
32
It is as God said. We will be safe in the ark, so don't worry.
Sheep
33
Baa.
Cow
34
Moo.
Noah
35
The animals will be safe, too. We have enough food for forty days.
Narrator
36
The flood continued for forty days and forty nights as God had told Noah.
Narrator
37
On the 40th day, the rain stopped. Noah, his family, and the animals were still on the ark. A dove came back to him with an olive leaf. Noah received the olive leaf from the dove.
Noah
38
Look! This is an olive leaf! This means Earth is drying out.
Narrator
39
Noah, his family, and the animals began stepping off the ark.
Noah
40
Look at the rainbow!
Noah's Wife
41
It is so beautiful... We survived...
Narrator
42
Noah, his family, and the animals were saved. All the wicked people were gone from Earth. God showed a beautiful rainbow. This was a sign that God had promised not to do this again.
Genesis 9:16
1
When the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between me and all living beings on earth.
Words from the Bible - 1 Corinthians 10:13
2
No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
